Het Huis Maison St Jean

Huis St Jan was built by the vintners guild of Bruges in the early 15th Century. In circa 1290, a monk by the name of Jacob van Maerlandt lived on this site and made the first translation of the Bible from Latin into Flemish, the Rijmsbibbel.

In 1468 the marriage of Charles the Bold and Margaret of York took place in the main hall of Huis St Jan.
